Being a Fangirl - Saloni Mhatre

I'm here to talk about people like me... People who are all out there in love with a celebrity.

Whether you refer to these people as fangirls, stans, or simply fans, our generation is no stranger to devoted people who take admiration to a new level. But do people actually know what being a Fan means?? FAN is the one of the most misinterpreted word in today’s world. People just go around saying everywhere “I am a fan of him” But nobody understands, that just admiring somebody, or loving their looks is not called FANGIRLING.

Me - Being a Fangirl have to answer some weird questions like “Damn, You still love him?”

“Is he really still your favorite?”, Or the most common “How do you manage to love the same celebrity for so long?”

Here’s how it goes. We watch a celebrity on screen, and we just fall for them like others do. We start admiring them, which sometimes goes on to become deep passionate love for them. When we like them for a few months, start exploring them and their lives better, we get to know them better and start loving them. As time passes by, gradually this love goes on to stay forever. Now when some people look at this, they wonder, “HOW”. How such deep love? How so passionate? Do we not get bored?

I wanna ask one thing, we have always heard of relationships and bonds in real lives that go on for years. People even sometimes marry the love of their life that they have been in love with since years. If that can happen with common man, why not with a celebrity? The only difference is, we have a constant, never-ending love for a celebrity. Sometimes the celebrity probably doesn’t even know about us, but just loving them, knowing about their existence in our lives, and giving them that importance makes the fans feel satisfied, happy, content and sometimes is even the reason behind our survival!

When they smile & laugh, we feel happy. It makes their world seem complete. Not only does the idol’s success make us happy and proud, but also their failure doesn’t make us love them any lesser. The thing is, fangirling is the most wonderful thing in life. That moment, when you realise they stole your heart, is the moment everything starts to be different, unique, lonely and heartwarming. You don't really have to stop fangirling just because you fear about what people think of you. Take everything positively, ignore the hate and keep doing all the things you want to for them. Be proud of being a die-hard fangirl.

No one has yet realised, that being a Fangirl/Fanboy is such a BEAUTIFUL FEELING! A feeling, that everyone would want to experience once in their life! Trust me people, HAVING THAT KIND OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND SUPPORT FOR A CELEBRITY IS BEAUTIFUL! ITS A WONDERFUL FEELING. I hope each of you someday, in your own way, get a chance to experience it and to be YOURSELF!
